A little bit about me…
I could speak languages (French and German fluently) and I could ski, so after graduating from Bristol polytechnic and not finding a proper job (my dream was to get into export marketing where I could travel and use my languages) I applied to work as a Ski Rep. (Just for a season, or so I thought). I managed to get a position as resort rep for Crystal Holidays. After than first season, I returned to Bristol to work as a temp secretary for various companies including the BBC. Problem was, I couldn’t stand being indoors and away from the mountains. I returned the following winter to the Trois Vallees, (Meribel Mottaret this time), and my summers were spent in wonderful Austria on the Lakes & Mountains programme. By 1992 I was in the USA- I spent a season starting up the winter programme for Crystal Ski in Jackson Hole Wyoming, where quite often I would take my guests snowmobiling in Yellowstone National Park.
The next few years were based in Vail Colorado working as Operations Manager North America & Canada for Crystal and then working for an Austrian DMC back in the Tirol, Austria (destination management company).
I returned from being overseas in 1998 – between then and 2017 I worked for a number of tour operators as Product manager, including School Travel Service, Travelsphere Holidays, and HF Holidays. I was the one putting the new holidays together, and making sure that the existing ones were working properly. I had some fabulous inspection visits, or ‘fam’ trips across Europe and exotic parts of the world – Colombia, Japan, Australia, Laos & Cambodia, Cape Verde, Indonesia, Iceland, Namibia.
A restructure in 2017 brought this all crashing down and at the age of 50 I decided I didn’t want to work for anyone else again. I took a massive leap of faith and started my own Travel Counsellor business with no client base and no sales background.

I’m backed by the global success story that is Travel Counsellors. I save my clients time, I may save them money, but what I will give them is exactly what they want. I offer a personal, but professional bespoke service at a time to suit. I’m a memory maker; I do the work, and my clients get to make those special memories. I’m happy to work on personal and business travel arrangements.
I don’t have a sales background, I’ve never worked in a high street travel agent, but what I do have is passion and enthusiasm. Clients come back to me when they realise that I really care about their holidays, and I will do everything within my power to ensure they have the best time ever.

Jane did a fantastic job in arranging our 2 week trip to Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. She organised everything – flights, hotel accommodation, car hire and taxi to and from the airport. She checked us in for our flights and on the return journey emailed our boarding cards to our hotel so they could print them out for us. There were concerns about bush fires in the area and she telephoned our hotels ahead of our arrival to check on the situation (thankfully there were no fires in the areas we went to). Everything went according to plan, there was no stress or worries, Jane had taken care of everything. Nothing was too much trouble. We even received a ‘welcome home’ box of chocolates on our return. I would definitely use Jane’s services again and would highly recommend her for all travel plans.
Jane did a fantastic job organising our trip to the Canary Islands. We had excellent accommodation at very reasonable prices. Jane also went above and beyond during our stay to organise a replacement apartment after we realised our original one was situated next to an incredibly noisy building site – organising this really made our holiday and helped us have an incredibly relaxing time (it also turned out to be an upgrade for no extra cost!). We would highly recommend booking through Jane and Travel Counsellors – we’re already planning what to book next with her! Thanks Jane for a great break.
I recently booked with Jane to go to South Africa to visit my family in the middle of all the disruption of travelling overseas. I had total peace of mind because I booked with Jane – I felt like I had my own personal travel assistant with me every step of the way. We aren’t travelling until next year but I wanted to leave a review to tell people how great the booking experience alone has been with Jane. She carefully listened to what we wanted then came back with great ideas and flexible options. The level of service we have received from Jane has been exceptional – she even sent me a birthday card. I’m confident our trip will be excellent because Jane has handled everything and found us some fab paces. Great work 😊
Jane has been absolutely amazing! We had never been abroad before so we were complete novices. Our trip was for a family wedding in Kos, Jane organised everything and guided us through it all, right down to airport parking and advice on packing! There was last minute drama with my passport looking like it wouldn’t arrive in time, but Jane gave me some sound advice and thankfully it came with a week to spare. We had the most amazing time in Greece and we can’t wait to book our next holiday which we will book through Jane. Thank you so much Jane for making our first family holiday experience as smooth as was possible – Can’t recommend highly enough 🙂
